Bio

When Young Pheezy 900 was about 5 years old, his parents gave him a drum set, and music has been part of his life ever since. He has never been good at expressing his emotions in daily life, but music enables Young Pheezy 900 a way  to effectively bring his feelings to the surface.  Additionally, music has connected him with people he may have never known otherwise.

Growing up in a small conservative town as a child in a two parent household, Young Pheezy 900 was sadly exposed to the horrors of racism at an early age. Feeling fortunate to have the support of his family was incredibly important and he wants to unmask many truths about America through his music and lyrics. His clever and witty use of words and meanings draw the listener in and keep them yearning for more. His music appeals to a variety of interests and is timeless. Young Pheezy 900 is obsessed with rhythmic beats and has a unique tone to his voice; a pairing which makes for an exciting listening experience.

His father used to tell him this saying often as a child: "There’s more to a song than just singing along.” This has impacted Young Pheezy 900 as a singer and performer and pushes him to go beyond the music itself, and reach towards a deeper meaning behind the words he writes. He dedicates his music towards spreading awareness to many issues, including racial prejudice. His first encounter with racial prejudice happened back in the 4th grade when his school librarian assumed that one of his peers and him were in a brawl. In actuality, he really just tripped over a chair that was not pushed in, and his friend kept him from falling. They were immediately sent to the principle and unjustly reprimanded. He is passionate about making music because he feels there is an unnecessary divide in our society that has continued for hundreds of years. Young Pheezy 900  feels his story is not ornate, but a change needs to come.
